Engine 5106 is a 1997 General fire engine built on a Ford chassis. It seats five firefighters and is the first truck to respond to any fire, except brush fires within our fire response district. It carries over 1,400 feet of hose and has a pump capacity of 1,750 gallons per minute.
Engine 5106 is our primary engine and carries all the equipment needed to start an attack on a big fire or extinguish small fires. Engine 5106 carries a variety of nozzles, hand tools, power tools, hoses, spare air bottles, fans and more.
Engine 5106 also serves as a secondary rescue truck as it carries additional auto extrication tools, a variety of ropes, as well as scene lighting.
Engine 5106 features a hydraulic ladder rack that allows firefighters easy access to the four different ladders this truck carries. Also on the ladder rack is pike poles, halogen flood lights and a hard suction tube for pumping from a static water source, such as a pool or drop tank.
